AAVpro® Helper Free System (AAV2-CRE Recombinase)

The AAVpro Helper Free System (AAV2-CRE Recombinase) is a kit for the preparation of serotype 2 adeno-associated virus (AAV2) particles to deliver a Cre recombinase gene cassette to mammalian cells. This kit enables the preparation of high-titer AAV2 particles without a helper virus. Simply transfect the three included plasmids into HEK 293T cells to prepare the virus. This kit also includes an AAV Extraction Solution for efficient virus isolation.

Features

• Helper virus-free preparation of high-titer AAV2 particles encoding the Cre recombinase gene under the control of the CMV promoter
• Enables delivery of the Cre recombinase gene to hard-to-transfect mammalian cells, including proliferating and non-proliferating cells
• The Cre recombinase protein mediates recombination between loxP sites, allowing gene inversion, translocation, or deletion

Applications

Genome editing—transduction of target cells containing a floxed DNA sequence with the AAV2-CRE recombinase viral particles results in recombination between the loxP sites
Generating transgenic mice
