Frequently asked questions

What does an automated slide stainer do?

It applies the staining reagents of a protocol such as Gram or Ziehl-Neelsen to microscope smears with fixed timings and fresh reagent per slide, so results are reproducible and the technologist is not exposed to the fumes. The DAGATRON DX-300 processes 1 to 20 slides per run in separate compartments.

Why homogenize tissue and bone biopsies in a sealed tube?

Grinding infected tissue releases the bacteria for culture while the sealed ProbeAX tube and the SpinAX cover prevent aerosol contamination of the laboratory and of the sample.

Which clinical microbiology instruments does Danyel Biotech supply in Israel?

Danyel Biotech supplies the Axon Lab range - DAGATRON DX-300 stainers, SpinAX homogenizer, DensitomAX densitometer and the Bact-R Plus anaerobic system. Prices are quoted on request - use Request a Quote on any product page.

Buying Guide

Start from the bench step you want to automate. A slide stainer is chosen by the protocols it must run (Gram, Ziehl-Neelsen, Kinyoun, fluorescence), the slides per run and whether each slide gets fresh reagent; a tissue homogenizer by the sealed tube system it works with and the aerosol protection it offers; a densitometer by its McFarland range and the tube sizes it accepts; an anaerobic atmosphere system by the jars and plate capacity it serves. Then check reagent compatibility, footprint, service and the consumables each instrument consumes.
