Eukaryotic ribosome assembly inhibitor
Functions
Rbin-1 is potent (GI50 = 136 nM) and reversible inhibitor of eukaryotic ribosome assembly. The biochemical target of Rbin-1 is Midasin (Mdn1), an essential AAA+ protein. Blocking of Mdn1 by Rbin-1 inhibits the processing of pre-60S particles, important pre-ribosomal subunits produced in the nucleolus.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to at least 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
