The NGS STARlet saves time and lab space when performing NGS library preparation protocols for small sample batches or high-priority samples—up to 24 samples at once. The NGS STARlet is based on our trusted Microlab STARlet automated liquid handler, featuring CO-RE II Technology in the eight independent CO-RE pipetting channels for the ultimate liquid handling precision and accuracy. Everything is controlled and operated via the latest VENUS software. This small but mighty automated NGS library prep solution may be connected to a laboratory information management system (LIMS) to further enhance efficiency and reproducibility.

DPS - Dynamic Positioning System

DPS enables all channels to pipette simultaneously, even across non-uniform patterns. Unlike fixed channels with equidistant spreading, DPS offers efficient yet flexible liquid handling for cherry picking, non-uniform and variable volume samples, and complex pipetting workflows.

On-Deck Thermal Cycler (ODTC), Optional

Highly reproducible thermal cycling in most 96-well PCR plates thanks to uniform heating, rapid ramp rates, adjustable heating and cooling rates, and the Hamilton PCR ComfortLid.

Consumables and Reagent Storage

CO-RE II tips, plates, and reagent reservoirs are easily accommodated on the open deck, while barcode verification confirms correct positioning.

Processing Positions

To streamline NGS workflows, a primary pipetting zone processes MIDI and PCR plates. It also includes a magnet plate for rapid bead-based cleanup steps.

Temperature and Mixing

Integrated modules include two Hamilton Heater Shakers (HHS) with 2500 rpm speed, and up to 105 ºC heating, along with two heating/cooling devices (CPACs).

Transportation Tool

Using the CO-RE Gripper, plates are reliably and precisely transported to and from any NGS STARlet deck position without user intervention.

Automated Loading and Scanning

Track samples and reagents, and verify correct consumable loading using the autoload function and barcode scanning.
