The NADAL® Strep A Scan Test is a rapid, reliable and cost-effective addition to the clinical assessment of sore throats. The evaluation with the nal von minden Colibr i ® Reader is based on a qualitative rapid test and provides a result within 5 minutes. Ideal as a rapid aid in the diagnosis of Strep A infections in patients presenting with typical symptoms. The automated evaluation is carried out using the Colibr i Reader from nal von minden and provides a clear result within 5 minutes - ideal for close-to-patient diagnostics in the GP or paediatric practice.

Streptococcus pyogenes is the most common bacterial pathogen causing acute pharyngitis or tonsillitis in children and adolescents, but also occurs in adults. The clinical distinction between viral and bacterial infections based on symptoms alone is often not clear - especially during the cold season. A targeted Strep A rapid test supports a reliable differential diagnosis and can help to decide whether or not antibiotics should be administered.

Important: The validity of the test depends to a large extent on the correct collection of the swab and the exact performance according to the instructions.

Cut-off:

• A positive test result indicates colonisation with Streptococcus pyogenes - usually relevant in acute infections.
• The test does not provide any information on the course of the disease or the duration of infection.
• The clinical evaluation - e.g. according to the Centor or McIsaac score - should always be included in the interpretation.
