Applications
Importin-b-mediated nuclear import blocker
Functions
Specifically inhibits importin-β-mediated nuclear import without disrupting transportin-mediated nuclear import or CRM1-mediated nuclear export. When added to cells during mitosis it impairs the release of an importin-β cargo probe and causes defects in spindle assembly. Inhibition of importin-β function is most likely mediated by blocking its interaction with RanGTP. It is an important new tool to probe the function of the importin-β/RanGTP pathway. Cell permeable
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20° for up to 3 months.
Research use only.
