On-column injection employs longer needles with smaller outer diameters for the direct introduction of the liquid sample into the column. Direct introduction into the column is useful for the analysis of thermally unstable samples. Hamilton's 700 series lab syringes offer a velvet feel, featuring a stainless-steel plunger crafted to fit the glass barrel with a tolerance of less than three-thousandths of a millimeter.
