Frequently asked questions
Should I choose absorbance, fluorescence, or luminescence detection?
Absorbance covers ELISA endpoints, protein assays, and OD measurements; fluorescence adds sensitivity and a much wider assay menu; luminescence needs no excitation light, so background is lowest — ideal for reporter-gene and ATP viability assays. If your assay list spans modes, a multimode reader consolidates them in one instrument.
What is a multimode microplate reader?
A single instrument with optical paths for several detection technologies — typically absorbance, fluorescence intensity, and luminescence, with options such as fluorescence polarization, TRF/TR-FRET, or BRET. Buy the modes your assay roadmap actually needs rather than the longest specification sheet.
Do I really need a microplate washer for ELISA?
Wash quality directly sets signal-to-noise: unbound conjugate left in wells raises background and creates false positives, and even a few microliters of residual liquid are measurable. An automated washer makes aspiration height, dispense pressure, and cycle count reproducible across plates and operators.
When is heat sealing better than adhesive film for microplates?
Heat-applied seals are tighter and slow evaporation more effectively, so they win for long-term storage, freezer work, and automated high-throughput lines; adhesive films stay quick and convenient for short-term runs. For qPCR, whichever route you take, the seal must be optically clear.
Who supplies microplate readers and washers in Israel?
Danyel Biotech equips Israeli labs with microplate readers, washers, and sealers, including installation and application support. Send us your assay list — absorbance, luminescence, or fluorescence — and we will recommend a configuration and quote it quickly.
