Autoantibodies against the SS-A 52 proteins are specific to Sjögren’s syndrome, though they are less specific than SS-A 60 antibodies. In cases of myositis, anti-SS-A 52 are found together with other myositis-specific antibodies such as Anti-SRP, Anti-PM-SCl, or antibodies against aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase.
