NNMT plays a significant role in the regulation of metabolic pathways. It is expressed at high levels in several kinds of cancers, neurodegenerative diseases, obesity, and diabetes, indicating a potential target for therapy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTribioscience’s NNMT Activity Assay utilizes SAM and nicotinamide as the substrates to generate SAH which is hydrolyzed to form homocysteine. The free thiol group of the homocysteine can be detected with a thiol probe generating an enhanced fluorescent signal at Ex\/Em = 400\/465 nm. The assay principle is displayed in Figure 1.
