This procedure relies on the well established \u003cbr\u003eproperties of the cationic detergent, cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), in \u003cbr\u003econjunction with the selective DNA binding of Omega Bio-tek’s HiBind® matrix, to purify \u003cbr\u003ehigh-quality DNA. Samples are homogenized and lysed in a high salt buffer containing \u003cbr\u003eCTAB and extracted with chloroform to remove polysaccharides and other components \u003cbr\u003ethat interfere with many routine DNA isolations and downstream applications.
